Maria Grazia Preda
Maria Grazia Preda born in 1969 in Spoleto (city of the Festival dei Due Mondi), grew up surrounded by artists. After her classical studies, she moved to Rome where she attened university and work as a model: it is in fact here, during the long hours spent working in the high fashion houses and showrooms around Piazza di Spagna that her dream of digging into the glorious past of Italian fashion, when movie stars animated the Dolce Vita, was born.
Standing, motionless, while designers sewed precious high fashion dresses on her, Maria Grazia develops a strong sense of aesthetics. In the ancient Roman buildings and along the Italian walkways, she learns the rules of perfection, deeply rooted in the past. In Paris, where she spent a long period of training, her passion for the fashion of the past and for vintage is deeply rooted. Here she dedicates her time to photography and discovers her admiration for graphic art and for contemporary expressiveness.
Surrounded by beauty and art, she begins to cut out the most beautiful images from fashion magazines: simple clippings soon turn into collages. After discovering the works of Mimmo Rotella, which she considers a real revelation, Maria Grazia creates her first Collage, finding the real world and her favorite expression of herself. Maria Grazia, today lives and works in Pavia.
